Once ferrets have grown beyond being kits their real personality starts to shine through and truly develop. Another reason to adopt a ferret is their size. They are not too big but also not too small and actually make the ideal sized pet. They are especially nice choices for those that live in apartments or homes that shun most pets. By about four months of age your ferret will have reached his full size.

Ferrets sleep a lot! They are usually in slumber some 18-20 hours each day and they sleep in their cage so adopting a ferret is also a great idea for those who work. Ferrets do need a good deal of social interaction but they love their sleep too. For those who work, come home and grab a little dinner, and then can spend some time enjoying their furry pet, these are ideal choices.

Ferrets can be litter trained which makes adopting one so much more appealing. Place the litter box inside of their cage and they will take care of the rest, of course you will have to take the time to train them to go in the litter.

Another great reason to adopt a ferret is because they are very quiet animals. This is very important to a lot of pet owners and righteously so. You can hear a little something from them every once in a while but usually only would get loud if they get scared or hurt.
